|Seaweeds are a form of algae that is usually found in the sea. They often grow along rocky shorelines and can be found in various colors such as red, brown, green ad even black.
To some people, this particular vegetable is a delicacy and as it turns out, it's also great for your oral health. Seaweed is essential in dental hygiene and health, and we will see how shortly.
How Can the Seaweed Promote Oral Health?
Studies carried out have shown that seaweed can remove plaque thanks to the bacterium found on the surface of the plant. The enzyme Bacillus licheniformis is located in the bacterium, and it plays a crucial role in fighting tooth decay. Seaweed can not only help in oral health, but even general health due to the nutrients it contains. As the plant removes harmful bacteria from the mouth, it ensures that the mouth remains with the good bacteria. It is also known as probiotic bacteria.
Seaweed is also beneficial in the fight against gum disease. It blocks the growth of bacteria because of the enzyme in the plant. When the growth of bacteria is hindered, few will be able to build up in the gums and along the lines of the gums.

Seaweed is also helpful as it whitens the teeth and removes stains that make the teeth to be discolored.
