Invisalign Seattle

A dental patient holding Invisalign tray in Seattle, WA at Pacific Modern Dentistry.Children and even adults are very conscious of people seeing them wearing metal braces on their teeth and it can put a dent in their confidence.

At Pacific Modern Dentistry, we offer Invisalign treatment, an advanced clear aligner that is a cutting-edge solution for teeth straightening.

Unlike metal brackets, Invisalign aligners are convenient, comfortable, and effective, avoiding the challenges of cleaning and appearance associated with traditional braces.

What is Invisalign Treatment?

Invisalign treatment involves using a series of clear aligners to move your teeth to the correct position. These clear aligners, specifically Invisalign, are a modern and convenient alternative to traditional metal braces.

They are almost invisible in your mouth, and unlike metal braces, can easily be removed in your home. They are also more comfortable than braces since they are made of smooth but tough plastic rather than metal wires.

The Invisalign system offers several advantages over traditional braces, including the removable nature of the aligners, which allows for easier cleaning and maintenance.

This system can effectively address various orthodontic issues while providing a more aesthetically pleasing option for adults and older teens.

Benefits of Invisalign Treatment

Invisalign treatment offers numerous benefits for individuals seeking a straighter, healthier smile. Some of the advantages of Invisalign include:

•  Discreet and Aesthetically Pleasing:: Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible, making them an ideal choice for adults and teens who want to avoid the appearance of traditional metal braces.

•  Convenient and Flexible: Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing for easy eating, drinking, and oral hygiene. This flexibility also makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene throughout treatment.

•  Comfortable and Pain-Free: Invisalign aligners are designed to be comfortable and gentle on the teeth and gums, reducing the risk of pain and discomfort associated with traditional metal braces.

•  Effective and Efficient: Invisalign treatment can be completed in as little as 6-18 months, depending on the complexity of the case. This is often faster than traditional orthodontic treatment.

•  Improved Oral Health: Invisalign treatment can help improve oral health by correcting issues such as overbites, underbites, and crossbites, which can lead to problems with chewing, speaking, and overall oral health.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gently straighten teeth over time. Here’s how it works:

•  Initial Consultation:: The first step in Invisalign treatment is an initial consultation with our Seattle specialist to determine if Invisalign is right for you.

•  Customized Treatment Plan: A customized treatment plan is created using advanced computer software to map out the movement of your teeth.

•  Aligner Fabrication: A series of clear aligners is fabricated based on your treatment plan. Each aligner is designed to move your teeth slightly, gradually straightening them over time.

•  Wearing the Aligners:You’ll wear each aligner for 20-22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink, and clean your teeth.

•  Progress Monitoring: Regular check-ups with your Seattle specialist will monitor your progress and ensure that your treatment is on track.

Who are the Ideal Candidates for Invisalign Treatment?

Invisalign is a cosmetic dentistry treatment so keep in mind that it cannot fix complicated orthodontics issues. However, it is effective for people with:

•  Overbite, which involves the upper jaw that juts out over the lower jaw.
•  Underbite, which involves the lower jaw jutting too far out from the upper jaw.
•  Crossbite, which involves the upper and lower teeth not meeting each other properly.
•  Overcrowding of teeth.
•  Gaps in teeth up to five millimeters.
•  Mild teeth relapse after orthodontic procedure.

Invisalign is considered the most advanced clear aligner for those seeking a cutting-edge solution for teeth straightening.

What to Expect During an Invisalign Treatment?

At Pacific Modern Dentistry, Dr. Jae Seon Kim will first assess your overall dental health and then recommend the Invisalign procedure, if you qualify.

Schedule an Invisalign consultation to assess your suitability for the treatment and discuss the benefits and costs involved.

Invisalign Process

We will take x-rays and diagnostic photos of your teeth and create an impression of your mouth to fabricate the set of Invisalign retainers.

Invisalign aligners are a type of orthodontic appliance used to gradually shift teeth into place.

Once the aligners are made, you will be told to wear them every day and replace the aligner with the next one in the series after one or two weeks.

These aligners are designed to slowly but gradually shift your teeth into place so every time you replace them with the next one in the series, it will feel a bit different from the previous one.

To put on the aligners, place the trays on your teeth and apply gentle pressure on the back so that they fit on the molars. To remove them, gently pull them down from the molars and work your way to the front.

How Long Do I Have To Wear My Invisalign?

Invisalign retainers are worn for 12 to 24 months, depending on the condition of your mouth. In comparison, the duration of wearing braces can vary significantly based on the severity of the malocclusion and the specific orthodontic needs.

More extensive corrections will require more time, naturally, but if you have had braces during your childhood and your teeth are just a little bit skewed, you will only need to wear aligners for as little as 10 weeks to get an even smile.

We recommend wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours a day every day and taking them out only for meals. If you do not follow these requirements, you will not get the results you hoped for.

Caring for Your Invisalign Aligners

•  Every time you take your aligners out of your mouth, you should take care to clean them with mild toothpaste and a soft-bristled brush. Make sure your teeth are brushed and flossed as well before you put these aligners on to prevent plaque buildup.
•  Avoid using hot water to wash the aligners as it can damage them.
•  Do not bite down when wearing your aligners as you can break them.
•  Avoid consuming dark-colored food and beverage as it can stain them.

Caring for Your Teeth During Invisalign

Caring for your teeth during Invisalign treatment is crucial to maintaining good oral hygiene and ensuring the success of your treatment. Here are some tips:

•  Brush and Floss Regularly: Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss once a day to remove plaque and food particles.

•  Clean Your Aligners: Clean your aligners regularly by brushing them with a soft-bristled toothbrush and rinsing them with lukewarm water.

•  Avoid Staining: Avoid consuming staining foods and drinks, such as coffee and red wine, to prevent discoloration of your aligners.

•  Wear Your Aligners as Directed: Wear your aligners as directed by your Seattle specialist to ensure that your treatment stays on track.

Comparing Invisalign to Traditional Braces

Invisalign and traditional metal braces are both effective orthodontic treatments, but they have some key differences. Here’s a comparison:

•  Appearance: Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible, while traditional metal braces are more noticeable.

•  Comfort: Invisalign aligners are designed to be comfortable and gentle on the teeth and gums, while traditional metal braces can be uncomfortable and painful.

•  Convenience: Invisalign aligners are removable, making it easier to eat, drink, and clean your teeth. Traditional metal braces are fixed and can be more difficult to clean around.

•  Treatment Time: Invisalign treatment can be completed in as little as 6-18 months, while traditional orthodontic treatment can take 2-3 years or more.
